Project Name: Send Hunger Packing BackPack Program

Project Description: 

  • Schools target students who show signs of food insecurity
  • Backpacks filled with food that children take home on weekends
  • Food is child-friendly, nonperishable and easily consumed
  • Backpacks are discreetly distributed to children on the last day before the weekend or holiday vacation

 

Project Name: Mercer Street Friends After School Program

Project Description: Nutrition education is taught to students, at six elementary schools, over the course of five weeks.
